Labour gained from Tories with a landslide victory in the latest council by-elections. Candidate John Anderton won at Worksop North East in a contest at Nottinghamshire's Bassetlaw District, costing Conservatives their technical casting vote control of the authority.
Bassetlaw District - Worksop North East: Lab 1198, C 317, Ind 75, Lib Dem 28. (May 2010 - Lab 2110, C 1184). Lab gain from C. Swing 13.1% C to Lab.
